The RYA Diesel Engine course (1 Day Course) is ideal for beginners and anyone who wants to build confidence in maintaining and troubleshooting an inboard diesel engine. Understanding how your engine works and knowing how to prevent common problems can make all the difference when out on the water.
Most engine problems can be prevented or resolved by taking simple precautions, and you don’t need detailed mechanical knowledge to keep your engine running smoothly. The course provides practical, hands-on training to help you understand the main engine systems, carry out basic checks and routine maintenance, and recognise potential problems before they become serious.
You will also learn essential fault-finding techniques and how to get your engine running again in the event of a breakdown, giving you the knowledge and confidence to deal with common engine problems and enjoy greater peace of mind on board.
