RYA First Aid Course
The 1 Day RYA First Aid Course is aimed at water sports enthusiasts and professionals alike, with it forming part of the prerequisite list for most practical RYA Instructor Courses (such as Dingy and Powerboat Instructor). However, we welcome anyone onto this course, as first aid skills are transferrable and could help you save a life!
Course Syllabus
During the course we will cover a breadth of first aid topics including:
The role of a first aider
CPR (Including drowning protocol)
Use of an AED (Defib)
The recovery position
Bleeding and how to control it
Shock
Cold shock and hypothermia
Seasickness and dehydration
Gaining medical assistance or advice by VHF
Helicopter rescue
CAT C First Aid Kits

Use of brand new AED Trainer - Every student will get hands on experience with a brand new AED Trainer in low ratios (we train with no more than 2 students per AED! - working in pairs to practise CPR with AED interaction).
Choking Trainers - Opportunity to have a go at choking scenarios with our Act+Fast Choking trainers.
Scenarios - We incorporate scenarios into all of our First Aid Courses making them more interactive and giving you the opportunity to practise.
CAT C Endorsement - All of our first aid courses include the content and use of the CAT C First Aid Kit, enabling anyone wanting to work commercially the ability to use this first aid certificate towards their commercial endorsement.
